Petrol heads?
I was wondering if there are any petrol heads in Anderslavia. As you may or may not know, I have a strong love for cars and I was wondering if you are interested, what are your favourite car manufactures or your particular favourite car.
for me right now it's the Jaguar F-type. Pure British power.

Re: Petrol heads?
I drool over cars from the 1950's. In fact, there was recently a 1955 Oldsmobile on a craigslist ad in my area, My parents were going to purchase it for me, but the lady had decided not to sell.
1957, Chevy Corvette
1955 Buick, Please ignore the Vgula in front of the vehicle.
1957 Chevy Bel air
I enjoy those two tone masterpieces, Studebakers, Dodges, Buicks, Oldsmobiles, those cars of the day were so beautiful and well built. I assure anyone, my first car will be something of this design, the simplistic beauty of the vehicles makes me happy.
I love retro 1950's stoof. Cars are a wonderful topic.

Me and my father restored a 1957 vette a while ago. The noise was beautiful. However, American restores are hard and expensive.
My father is now looking in to buying an e-type jaguar. Classic British sporting car and very beautiful but a well maintained one is around the £50,000 mark so wel might have to wait a little while longer or we just look out and go for the f-type which will be an extra 15k.

It's good to know when people can appreciate cars from that Era. My current community around me happen to be more interested into objects that emulate or are muscle cars. I'm not much into vehicles with big throaty engines. I prefer more classy cars that shine through that retro cold war era.
Two tone boxy cars with white plated wheels and fins are vehicles that I can't get over. They're so beautiful and lovely. I don't understand why anyone wouldn't want a classy car such as an old buick or something.

I have a problem with old American cars as they are not as well made as their European rivals and they can't steer.
I'm more into European sport cars or exotic cars, my soft spot is old Italian supercars.

Re: Petrol heads?
I'm not too fond of the designs used by the British car companies during the 1950s. I find the american designs to be far more interesting. I believe when I was younger, I addressed the british car designs as carrella deville cars. That was simply because of their relation to an older disney film titled '101 dalmations'.
I prefer the boxy retro styled cars with the two tone beauties provided by their cold war era designers. British cars are very interesting, but they aren't of my taste. Not that I'm being discriminatory or derogatory, but I find the statement that British cars steer better to be a silly statement to make. As I believe powered steering first was equipped upon the first cars in america during the cold war era.

Re: Petrol heads?
Old American cars aren't my taste to be honest some are good but some are truly awful. And the steering thing was a joke but in most case true because of the length of some of the cars as they were as long as a London bus
Re: Petrol heads?
Oh yes. I am well aware of how ridiculously long those vehicles were. It was silly for the manufacturers to make them as that, but I still wish to own a car from that era.
You and my younger brother would get along well when it comes to cars. He's quite fascinated with the Italian vehicles of the age.

Re: Petrol heads?
My dad has worked out the amount of profit we made last year from his small restoration hobby. Excluding his usual yearly salary of £110,000 ($180,483) We made a total of £289,694 ($475,315). This is amazing from when my dad started this in 2009 to get a bit of extra money in because he wasn't making that usual salary either, it was about £60,000 which £25,000 of it was taxed and bills expenses went right through it to where we are now. I can officially say, started from the bottom now we here.
