Though, I would like to see the United States fall into a conglomerate of 50 independent states. It'd be an interesting concept to watch.

Well, the "western civilization" Sits on huge amounts of oil, just the dirty americans are hogging it.

Canada's tundra has large amounts of oil. Only problem are the ecological problems they will cause. Especially that proposed pipeline through the middle of the US. It can have large ecological problems, and would be a target for insurgents in the US.
