If you think about it, English is a nasty language, it doesn't properly fit the latin alphabet.
If we reverted to our older characters and implemented them, English would make more sense to foreigners. Or just added new characters rather than changing the entire alphabet.
We could make english easier for the foreigners or children to learn by adding back simple letters rather than representing sounds with a digraph For Example:
Think : þink
Thought : þought
Through : þrough
Thorn : þorn
Thankful : þankful
The : ðe
Them : ðem
Those : ðose
There : ðere
Fish : Fiж
Shape : жape
Should : жould
Unshorn : unжorn
Song : soŋ
Wrong : wroŋ
Tong : Toŋ
Long : Loŋ
I've never understood why nobody reforms the english language, It's so silly in ways. We have silent characters that are completely useless

Ought

I think that If I were to isolate myself and a group of kind people far away on an island away from civilisation, I'd definitely reform the english language and the ways it uses its spelling. Perhaps I'd even make up some characters on my own.

Most English word are made to be spelt how they sound.

Well, when the normans conquered england, We had massive shifts in our language. Then in the 1500's we added a bunch of useless shit to make it look like a romance language.

Re: Wouldn't english be a better language without the latin alphabet?
English is also composed of Old French, so it seems more or less that a bunch of Latin derivatives just dumped themselves into making a new language.
I have no stance on language, I don't really care as long as I can understand what's being said.
