Well your points are completely valid and further support the reasoning for another massive war starting in the middle east, which currently is a probable situation.

Though, I would like to see the United States fall into a conglomerate of 50 independent states. It'd be an interesting concept to watch.

Canada's tundra has large amounts of oil. Only problem are the ecological problems they will cause. Especially that proposed pipeline through the middle of the US. It can have large ecological problems, and would be a target for insurgents in the US.
