NATO Using Chemical Attacks in Syria
That event Obama tried blowing up to get US military intervention despite the fact China and Russia objected.
Suddenly he's so quiet when a whistleblower came through saying the rebels were armed with chemical agents and were attacking civilians.
It should also be noted that Russia has sent troops to the Mediterranean, first deployment there since the end of the Cold War.

I wouldn't even dare calling these extremists rebels. I detest the idea of the Arab Springs being actual revolutions. Al Qaeda flags are flying over the Libyan capitol building.
Libya had Democracy. They had democracy that was more developed than the American system, I don't see how these people were fighting for freedom when they've placed themselves under heavier islamic law. They had democracy in the form of autonomous popular congressional bodies.
The Arab Spring revolts aren't revolutions, they're western backed extremists who've promised Oil to the west.

Take the petrodollar into account, and suddenly everything is so clear.

Well, if you're going to discuss oil based currency, I'd suggest you do some reading on the Golden Dinar. It's similar to what Saddam wanted to do with arab oil. Conveniently, we went in to find weapons of mass destruction that turned out to not exist.
I'm quite confident that if the Golden Dinar went through, Africa would be the best continent on the earth to live on.

Minus the massive AIDs epidemic, racial segregation of South Africa, and glorious people like Joseph Kony.
Saddam began selling it in Euros, I believe. Mainly an attack on the dollar, which is why we went in again.

I'm quite confident that if Africa was unified and had enough money, the AIDs epidemic wouldn't be a problem. Most African racial struggles are the remnants from european imperialism. Take Rwanda for example. That entire situation would never have happened if Belgium wasn't loony like the rest of europe.

Well, Africa also has to fight desertification. It'd take decades for Africa to develop into its prime, but the point you make still stands.

I was reading an article that mimicking the nomadic life of giant herd animals may combat desertification. Basically, they just control cows across the landscape and the land quality gets better. I think TED even had a presentation done by some South African individual recorded somewhere.

I'd assume thats much cheaper than building massive barriers to prevent sand from spreading and killing soil.

It has worked. I think they reclaimed some land in Nigeria over time with the strategy. Can't remember the exact square kilometers off the top of my head.

I suppose it does sound like it may work. That just seems rather costly and somewhat inefficient to me though. Although, then again, Libya did create the world's largest irrigation network and made parts of the Libyan Desert green.

Once we look past media, countries condemned by them are actually far more interesting and innocent then they appear.

It is indeed interesting to read about how these nations functioned before our media fired everything they could at them.
Just on CNN yesterday night I heard the Anchor talking about the Turkish leader and addressing them as a dictator. I can't believe how easy it is for money to change a political stance in our nation.

Turkey is a better ally for the US in the region than Israel. At least Turkey can give the United States some sort of strategical advantage besides a small strip of land full of Jews oppressing Palestinians.
I sound like a Nazi there for some reason.

I'm sure we'll throw out turkey as soon as big oil realizes they can make a few bucks off of Turkish oil.
Re: NATO Using Chemical Attacks in Syria
Turkey is a lovely country.
I love countries named off of food. Chile almost made it.

Kevin has a disliking of the turkish due to some talk show host that always talks about guns.
Re: NATO Using Chemical Attacks in Syria
I still think Turkey is lovely.
Especially since they sit on the entrance to Asia and Europe. It beats going through Siberia.
